FORT AGUADA
First on the list is the visit to Fort Aguada, in Candolim. This 17thCentury Fort is one of the most important forts in Goa and most indispensable of all forts in Goa. In the past decennary the Fort was used as prisoner cell in Goa, today it’s a popular tourist attraction and awe for history buffs and travelers. It was built by the Portuguese government in 1612 in order to protect Old Goa from enemy attacks and the route was used for trading. A spring within the Aguada fort supplied fresh drinking water to all the ships entering Goa.
SALIGAO CHURCH:
This unique Roman gothic architectural design is one of the most beautiful of all the churches ever buil in Goan history. Its located in the god blessed village of Saligao amidst the paddy fields. This church is located few kilometers away from the famous Calangute beach. During the evening this church is lightened up and it looks like a beaming jewel in the fields as you drive past the Chogum road from Panjim to Calangute.
CALANGUTE BEACH :
Next in our trip list, get ready to tick off with a visit to the famous Calangute beach. Also known as queen of beaches in Goa, people from all walks of life are seen here enjoying their holidays or just for a glimpse. The beach is host to various water sports activities, you will also notice that there are plenty of luxury and budget hotels in this area. So soak up some beach breeze and relax on the beach or simply enjoy the shallow water (*While at the beach you may want to follow the beach rules & regulation).
ANJUNA BEACH (View point) :
Very popular amongst the international tourist , this infamous beach is house to Trance and Hippie parties. It also is the host to Anjuna Flea Market also known as Wednesday market. You will surely be surprised to see variety of items up for sale by people from around the globe and the food stalls are the prime attraction here – If you are a foodie then this place is sure to tickle your hunger craving.
VAGATOR BEACH :
Now famous for SUNBURN event as you may recall, the beach has some of the captivating views of the Arabian sea. Vagator Beach is fragmented into two beaches by a seaside headland which holds the car park and lots of stalls selling trinkets, clothes, soft drinks and snacks. As you face the sea, on your right is North Vagator Beach (Big Vagator)and on your left Ozran Beach, also known as Little Vagator Beach
MORJIM BEACH:
This is one of the most secluded and beautiful beaches of North Goa, located towards the rural part of Goa. This beach is mainly frequented by Israeli & Russian tourist. This beach is abundantly blessed with plenitude of palm and casuarina trees. This is beach is also famous as a nestling ground for the protected species of Olive Ridley Turtles, which consider this beach as their home and egg nesting location. The nesting site is highly protected by the Goa Tourism department along with the Ministry of Environment for state.
ASHVEM BEACH:
This stretch of beach is a bit rocky but yet charming, you will come across many local and tourist alike consider this spot for their for picnic.
